if there is a god, why would he let that irresponsible piece of shit woman drunk drive and kill 4 innocent kids and walk away without a scratch on herself? what is he "teaching" us by making this happen? i was reading the comments under the article on freep.com and people were saying that "he has bigger plans for them" and "they are doing his work in heaven". well, what if they were enjoying their life HERE? the only life that we know for sure exists. i would not be happy about a creator using me as a tool to teach the rest of society a lesson, and i am sure these kids wouldn't have agreed to it either if they had the choice, no matter what they believe religion wise. my sister was literally a few cars away in her car from where this accident occured and with slightly different timing, she could have been the one to get hit.
also, if i find out you drink and drive from today forward--- i'm not bothering with in the past because i have done this once and highly regret it--- we are not friends, period.

this may sound a bit rough, but anyone who is not a smoker feels this way:
if you are going to be rude enough to sit down next to someone who does not smoke and light up a fag, SMOKE IT. smoke it quickly. do not light it, take one puff, and then set it down in the ashtray and chat to your mates. i know that the harmful carcinogens make you feel lyke totally awesome, but letting the unfiltered smoke drift off the end of your cigarette into the nose and lungs of the people around you is even worse than if you were making that ugly face where you take a deep breath and blow the smoke out of the side of your mouth. do not kid yourself, you do not have the right to smoke wherever you want if there are people around you that are not interested in the perks of lung cancer and you should do it somewhere that it isn't going to have an affect on others.

ps. this isn't directed at anyone in particular, so please don't remember a time where this may have happened and get all offended. it's directed at all people that smoke.
pss. mike watson is the most polite fucking smoker ever, he never EVER smokes around people who don't like it. you should learn from his ways.

the mormon and catholic churches should be ashamed of themselves for pouring so much money into proposal 8 in california to ban gay marriage. i'm not sure of the figures for the catholics, but the mormons dumped in 20 million bones. aren't churches and religions supposed to be about peace and love and helping others? because that 20 million could have fed a lot of poor people at christmas or fixed up a lot of broken down neighborhoods, but instead it was used to deny the rights of people that they don't like, but are still people just like they are. fucking pathetic.
there is no reason to deny gay people the right to get married to someone they love other than personal bigotry. people often say stuff like "oh, you can't just change the definition of a word that's been around forever". it's not about definitions, it's about hate, and they can go fuck themselves. no one is better than anyone else, period.

i want to watch election coverage with conor oberst and m. ward buuuuut they do not live near me. instead, jessika and i will journey to ydfc to watch history be made with al, jim train, and jessie and hopefully go BANANAS when obama declares victory and mccain stumbles his way through a concession speech.
zack and miri was a cute movie, it was probably the best (and least pretentious) kevin smith movie i've seen in a long time.
speaking of people named kevin smith, fuck the lions. dan orlovsky is not as hurt as you say he is and you should be ashamed of yourselves throwing culpepper to the wolves this sunday.

sometimes i look at the reality shows that feature families (hogan knows best, run's house, life of ryan) and even shows like the hills and wonder why anyone would want to live their life in from of a cameraman, with lights shining in their face and a microphone hanging over their head.
isn't that where society is headed anyway? why speed up the process?

i would like to officially retract the applause i gave you two years ago when you left the game in the 8th inning against the tigers at comerica park. as i stood up to cheer for who i thought was perhaps the greatest pitcher to ever play the game, and certainly the best of the modern era, i had no idea the things i would be finding out about you just one short year later. the simple fact that you named all of your children names that start with the letter "k" is beyond narcissistic and conceited. add on the fact that you would soon get implicated, with seemingly irrefutable evidence, in the steroid scandal and try to blame it on everyone except for yourself, including your own wife and mother. perhaps the most disgusting thing you've done to date came to my attention yesterday when i learned of your alleged relationship with mindy mccready when she was 15 and you were 28, married, with two kids with "k" names already. if this is true, and i guess mindy has said that she "cannot refute anything in the story", then i hope you do go to jail, and i hope someone sticks something in your ass that is considerably bigger than a syringe.

1. it's opening day, today is wonderful.
2. i hate buying things from amazon.com. my mom bought me the movie once because i love glen hansard and marketa irglova's music, and i've been telling everyone about them, yet i think i'm the only person who hasn't seen the movie yet since it's been a month and still no movie.
3. i just don't get it with gnarls barkley. although alex said there was a band he needed to tell me about that sounded like gnarls barkley mixed with saosin, that sounds interesting.
